TapBridge

# TapBridge Help Guide

Welcome to TapBridge — your custom NFC tag platform. This guide walks you through every feature so you can get the most out of your tags and landing pages. If you have a question not covered here, use the chat widget at the bottom right.

Getting Started

Understanding Credits

TapBridge uses a credit system. One credit = one custom NFC tag (physical product + digital landing page).

How to get credits:

  • Individual — $27/credit. Great for trying it out or ordering a tag just for yourself.
  • Referral Gift Pack — $399 for 20 credits (~$19.95 each). Best for gifting tags to your referral partners.
  • Enterprise — $199/month (billed annually) — includes 75 credits/month plus team features and white-label branding.

Credits never expire. You can buy more at any time from the Billing page in your dashboard.

Received credits as a gift? If someone has gifted you credits, you'll receive an email notification. Log in to TapBridge and your gifted credits will be waiting in your dashboard automatically.

Setting Up Your Account

  1. Go to tapbridge.io and click Get Started or Sign In.
  2. Enter your email address. A magic link will be sent to your inbox — no password required.
  3. Click the link in your email to log in. You'll be taken directly to your dashboard.
  4. From your dashboard, you can buy credits, create tags, and manage everything.

Tip: The magic link expires in 15 minutes. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder and request a new one.

Creating Your First Tag

Step 1: Start a New Tag

From your dashboard, click + New Tag. If you have gifted credits available alongside purchased ones, you'll be shown a picker to choose which credit to use. Each gifted credit shows the donor's name and any callback button details so you know what you're selecting.

Step 2: Choose a Shape

TapBridge offers five shapes:

Shape Size Best For
House keychain 48 × 56mm Real estate agents, mortgage loan officers
Rectangle keychain Standard fob Versatile — works for any industry
Circle fob Round Clean and minimal
Business card Credit-card size Wallet-friendly, professional
Custom logo shape Your outline Upload an SVG; the tag is cut to your logo's silhouette

Note: Business card tags have a flat, professional layout with structured fields (Name, Title, Company) instead of a free-text prompt.

Step 3: Pick Your Colors

You can choose up to 3 filament colors per tag:

  • Tag body color — the base/background of the tag
  • Text/raised element color — the color of your name or design raised on top
  • Logo color — if you're uploading a logo, choose its accent color

18 curated filament colors are available, including whites, blacks, grays, blues, greens, neons, and warm tones. Click a color swatch to select it.

Color tip: High contrast between body and text makes the tag pop. Try a black body with neon green text, or white body with black text.

Step 4: Choose a Font

Click the Font dropdown to pick from 8 curated typefaces. A live preview shows how each font looks so you can see exactly what you're selecting before committing.

Step 5: Write Your Design Prompt

The Design Prompt is where you describe what you want on your tag. TapBridge's AI reads your prompt and generates a unique 3D design automatically — no designer needed.

Good prompt examples:

  • "Jenna Martinez, Realtor — with a small house icon above the name"
  • "Kyle Shea — Mortgage Advisor — clean and minimal, name centered"
  • "Jennifer — bold name only, big and centered"

Tips for great prompts:

  • Include the exact name(s) you want on the tag
  • Mention any design style notes ("modern," "minimal," "bold")
  • If you have a logo uploaded, describe how you want it positioned (e.g., "logo above the name")
  • You can regenerate as many times as you want for free — so experiment

For business card shape: Instead of a free-text prompt, you'll fill in structured fields: Name, Title, Company, and optional Style Notes. The AI handles the layout automatically.

Step 6: Upload a Logo (Optional)

Click Upload Logo to add your company logo, a headshot silhouette, or any image to the tag.

  • Accepted formats: PNG, JPG, or SVG
  • TapBridge automatically converts your image to a clean 3D-printable silhouette
  • A "Logo on file" chip confirms the logo is ready
  • The X button on the chip removes the logo if you change your mind

Logo tip: High-contrast logos with clean edges produce the best results. Simple, bold shapes work better than detailed photography.

Step 7: Generate the Preview

Click Generate Preview at the bottom of the configuration panel. TapBridge will:

  1. Save your design settings
  2. Send your configuration to the AI (takes 30–60 seconds)
  3. Render a photorealistic preview image showing exactly what your tag will look like

A progress indicator shows where things are in the pipeline. When the preview is ready, it appears in the right panel.

Not happy with it? Adjust your prompt and click Regenerate Preview. Regenerations are free and unlimited.

Clicking the preview image opens a full-screen view so you can inspect details closely.

Step 8: Approve and Enter Shipping

Once you're happy with the preview, click Approve for Printing. You'll be asked to confirm or enter a shipping address.

  • Saved addresses appear as quick-select cards — pick one and confirm
  • New address — fill in the form; check "Save this address" to reuse it later
  • Shipping is free via USPS
  • Tags ship in 5–7 business days

After approving, the tag status changes to Sent for Print and enters the print queue.

Designing for a Partner — Design & Assign

The Design & Assign flow lets you design a tag for someone else and invite them to manage their own landing page.

How to Design & Assign

  1. From the dashboard, click + New Tag and design the tag as you normally would — choosing the shape, colors, font, prompt, and optional logo.
  2. In the Assignment section of the configuration, enter the recipient's email address.
  3. Click Generate Preview and, when satisfied, Approve for Printing.
  4. The recipient receives an invitation email with a unique link.
  5. They click the link, create a TapBridge account (or log in if they already have one), and gain access to edit their own landing page.
  6. You retain full visibility in your dashboard — you can see the tag's design, status, and shipping info at any time.

What the Recipient Sees

The recipient gets their own landing page editor where they can customize their profile, photo, contact info, links, and more. They manage their content independently but cannot change the physical tag design.

If the recipient already has a TapBridge account: They'll see the gifted tag appear in their dashboard under "Tags gifted to me."

Give Credits — Gifting Credits to Partners

The Give Credits flow lets you gift credits directly to someone's email so they design their own tag.

How to Send Credits

  1. In your dashboard, click Give Credits (top of the page).
  2. Enter how many credits to send.
  3. Enter the recipient's email address.
  4. Optionally configure a callback button (see below).
  5. Click Send Credits.

The credits are deducted from your account and the recipient receives an email letting them know credits are ready and how to log in and use them.

The Callback Button — What It Is and Why It Matters

The callback button is the most powerful part of gifting credits. It's an optional permanent button that gets embedded on every tag the recipient creates using your gifted credit — and they cannot remove it.

To set up the callback button:

  1. Toggle Add Callback Button in the Give Credits modal.
  2. Give it a label (e.g., "Preferred Lending Partner", "My Mortgage Guy", "Talk to Kyle").
  3. Enter the URL it should point to — your TapBridge landing page, your website, your Calendly, whatever you want.
  4. Optionally, use the tag picker to select one of your own tags as the destination.

What the recipient sees: Their tag's landing page includes your button at the top, permanently. Every time someone taps their tag and lands on their page, they see your button and can tap through to you.

Real-world example: A mortgage loan officer gifts 10 credits to 10 real estate agents. Each gift has a callback button labeled "Preferred Lending Partner" pointing to the LO's landing page. Every homebuyer who taps any of those 10 agents' tags sees the LO's button — automatically. That's 10 referral touchpoints running on autopilot.

What the Recipient Sees

When someone receives gifted credits:

  • They get an email notification explaining the gift and who sent it.
  • They log into TapBridge and the credits appear in their dashboard.
  • When creating a tag with that credit, they'll see a banner showing the donor's name and a preview of the callback button (if one was set).
  • Their finished landing page will include the callback button permanently.

Editing Your Landing Page

The landing page editor is a live-preview workspace. Changes appear in real time in a phone mockup on the right so you always know exactly what visitors will see.

To open the editor: click Edit Page on any tag card in your dashboard.

Profile Section

  • Full Name — displayed prominently at the top of your page
  • Headline / Tagline — a short line under your name (job title, company, or a tagline)
  • Subheadline — optional second line (department, specialty, or brief bio)
  • Photo — click to upload a headshot. A crop tool lets you frame your face exactly right before saving.
  • Location — short location text like "Columbus, OH" or "Greater Chicago Area"

Contact Info

  • Phone — tap-to-call link on mobile; shows as formatted number with phone icon
  • Email — tap-to-email link; shows as an icon only (no email harvesting by bots)

Social Media Links

Add links to your social profiles. Supported platforms: Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok, YouTube, and more. Each shows as a clean icon button on your landing page.

To add a social link, type or paste the full URL into the field for that platform.

Custom Link Buttons

Custom links are the most powerful element of your landing page. Add any URL with a custom label.

Popular uses:

  • "Book a Meeting" → Calendly or scheduling tool
  • "Leave a Review" → Google review page
  • "View My Listings" → MLS or website
  • "Watch My Intro" → YouTube video
  • "Get a Quote" → quote or application page
  • "Connect on LinkedIn" → LinkedIn profile

To add a button: Click + Add Link, enter a label and URL.

To reorder buttons: Drag the grip handle (⠿) on the left of any button row to rearrange.

Per-button colors: Click the palette icon on any button row to customize its background and text color independently from the rest of the page.

Global Button Colors

Set default colors for all buttons on your page using the Button Color and Button Text Color pickers at the top of the Links section. Individual button overrides take precedence.

vCard / Add to Contacts

The Add to Contacts button lets visitors save your contact info directly to their phone with one tap — no typing required.

To configure vCard data:

  • Fill in the vCard fields: full name, title, company, phone, email, website, and mailing address
  • The mailing address in vCard is separate from your display location — it's used for the contact file only

When a visitor taps "Add to Contacts," their phone downloads a .vcf file that auto-populates into their contacts app.

Disclaimer / Compliance Footer

If you're a licensed professional (mortgage, insurance, financial services), you can add compliance text that appears as small print at the bottom of your landing page.

Enter any text in the Disclaimer field. It renders as a small, subdued footer — visible but out of the way.

Contact Capture / Tapper Info

Contact Capture turns your landing page into a two-way lead tool. When enabled, visitors are asked to enter their name, email, and phone before they can download your contact card.

You get their info. They get yours. Both parties walk away with something.

How to Enable Contact Capture

  1. Open the Edit Page editor for the tag you want to configure.
  2. Scroll to the Contact Capture section.
  3. Toggle Require visitor info before sharing contact to on.
  4. Choose a delivery method:
    • Email — you receive an email immediately when someone submits their info
    • Salesforce — the visitor is created as a Salesforce Contact automatically (requires Salesforce integration to be connected in Settings)

What Happens When a Visitor Taps

  1. Visitor taps your NFC tag and lands on your page.
  2. When they tap "Add to Contacts," they're prompted to enter their first name, last name, email, and phone.
  3. After submitting, they receive your contact card.
  4. You receive their info via email or Salesforce, depending on your delivery setting.

Contact Capture is optional and can be toggled on or off at any time — no need to reprint the tag.

Email Delivery

When a visitor submits their info, you'll receive an email with:

  • Their full name, email address, and phone number
  • One-click copy links for each field

Salesforce Delivery

If Salesforce is connected, captured contacts are created directly in your Salesforce org as Contacts. A follow-up Task is automatically created, due 7 days out, so the lead doesn't fall through the cracks. TapBridge deduplicates by email — no duplicates will be created.

Business Card Scanner

The built-in business card scanner lets you digitize business cards instantly — no separate app required.

Step by Step

  1. In your dashboard sidebar, click the Card Scanner icon.
  2. Point your phone camera at a business card. A card-shaped frame appears as a guide.
  3. TapBridge detects sharpness automatically — hold steady and it will auto-capture when the image is clear. You can also tap the shutter button manually.
  4. The AI extracts all contact details: name, title, company, email, phone numbers (with type — mobile, work, home, fax), address, and website.
  5. Review and edit the extracted fields if anything needs correction.
  6. Choose how to deliver the contact:
    • Email to yourself — a formatted contact card arrives in your inbox
    • Salesforce — pushed directly as a Salesforce Contact with an automatic follow-up Task
    • Both
  7. Optionally check Add to device contacts for an instant .vcf download to your phone's contacts app.
  8. Click Send.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use good lighting — natural light works best; avoid harsh shadows across the card
  • Keep the card flat and fully in frame
  • Hold your phone parallel to the card (not at an angle)
  • If the card is glossy and reflecting light, tilt slightly to reduce glare
  • The scanner handles unusual layouts and multiple phone numbers — just review the extracted fields before sending

Scan Me / QR Code

Every TapBridge landing page has a permanent URL (e.g., tapbridge.io/p/tb-abc123). This URL works via both NFC tap and QR code scan.

Setting Up Your Scan Me Tag

  1. Go to Settings in your dashboard.
  2. Scroll to the Scan Me section.
  3. Select which of your tags to use as your Scan Me tag. The QR code for that tag's landing page will be shown when you open Scan Me.

Displaying Your QR Code

  1. In the sidebar, click Scan Me.
  2. A full-screen dark overlay appears with a large, high-contrast QR code.
  3. Hold your phone screen toward another phone — they scan it with their camera to open your landing page instantly.

The QR code is always current — it links to your living landing page, so it's never stale even if you update your profile.

Downloading Your QR Code

In the Landing Page Editor, scroll to the bottom to find the QR Code section. Click Download QR Code (PNG) to save a high-resolution image you can print, embed in presentations, or share anywhere.

Salesforce Integration

TapBridge connects to Salesforce without requiring a Connected App or admin approval — just your login credentials.

Connecting Salesforce

  1. Go to Settings in your dashboard.
  2. Scroll to the Salesforce Integration section.
  3. Fill in:
    • Org Type — Production or Sandbox
    • Username — your Salesforce login email
    • Password — your Salesforce password
    • Security Token — your Salesforce security token (found in Salesforce under My Settings → Personal → Reset My Security Token)
  4. Click Test & Save. TapBridge verifies the credentials and shows a Connected badge on success.

What Syncs to Salesforce

Once connected, the following happen automatically:

  • Contact Capture leads — when a visitor submits their info via your landing page, they're created as a Salesforce Contact
  • Business card scans — after reviewing an extracted card, click "Send to Salesforce" to push it as a Salesforce Contact
  • Follow-up Tasks — for every new contact created (via capture or card scan), a follow-up Task is automatically created in Salesforce due 7 days out, linked to the contact

TapBridge deduplicates by email — if a contact already exists in Salesforce with that email, a duplicate will not be created.

Salesforce Troubleshooting

  • "Test failed" error: Double-check your username, password, and security token. The security token resets every time you change your password — if you recently changed your Salesforce password, reset your security token and update TapBridge.
  • Contacts not appearing in Salesforce: Make sure your Salesforce org type is set correctly (Production vs. Sandbox).
  • "Wrong org" error: The username must match the org type you've selected.

Managing Your Tags

Dashboard Overview

Your My Tags page shows all the tags you've created. Each card shows:

  • Tag shape preview image
  • Status badge
  • Quick action buttons: Configure (physical design) and Edit Page (landing page)
  • A ... menu for Clone and Delete

Tags assigned to you by someone else appear in a Tags gifted to me section below your own tags.

Tag Statuses

Status What it means
Draft Configured but no AI design generated yet
Generating AI is building the 3D model (30–60 seconds)
Preview Ready Design complete — preview image available for your review
Sent for Print You approved the design; it's in the print queue
Printing Actively being printed
Printed Shipped

Cloning a Tag

Cloning creates a new draft tag with the same physical configuration (shape, colors, font, prompt, logo) as the original. Useful for ordering multiple copies of the same design.

To clone: click the ... menu on any tag card and select Clone.

Deleting a Tag

To delete a tag: click the ... menu on any tag card and select Delete. A confirmation dialog appears — confirm to permanently remove the tag.

Note: Deleting a tag also deletes its landing page. If the tag was assigned to someone else, they will lose access. This cannot be undone.

Troubleshooting

NFC Not Working on iPhone

  • iPhone NFC requires iOS 14 or later
  • Hold the top edge of your iPhone near the tag (the NFC antenna is at the top on most iPhones)
  • Remove any thick case — some heavy-duty cases block NFC signals
  • Make sure your phone isn't in Airplane Mode
  • The tap should trigger automatically without opening an app — if nothing happens after 2–3 seconds, try repositioning

NFC Not Working on Android

  • Most Android phones have NFC built in; confirm it's enabled under Settings → Connected Devices → NFC
  • Android NFC antenna location varies by model — typically center-back; try different positions
  • Some Android phones require you to unlock the screen before NFC scans work
  • Avoid scanning through very thick wallet cases or magnetic card holders

Tag Not Generating (Stuck on "Generating")

  • Generation takes 30–60 seconds under normal conditions
  • If the status stays on "Generating" for more than 5 minutes, the generation timed out. The status will change to Failed automatically.
  • To retry: click Configure on the tag card and click Generate Preview again
  • If it fails repeatedly, try simplifying your design prompt

Preview Looks Wrong

  • Review your design prompt — the AI follows it literally. If you asked for something that conflicts with the shape dimensions, it may have compromised.
  • Try regenerating with a simpler, clearer prompt
  • Check that the colors you selected match what you expected — the preview reflects your actual filament color selections
  • If the logo looks distorted, try uploading a cleaner version of your logo (solid shapes work best)

Email Not Received (Magic Link / Notifications)

  • Check your spam or junk folder first
  • Add hello@tapbridge.io to your contacts or safe senders list
  • The magic link expires in 15 minutes — request a new one if needed
  • For notification emails (preview ready, contact captures), make sure your account email is correct

Salesforce Errors

  • "Test failed" when saving credentials: Recheck your security token. The token changes every time your Salesforce password is reset.
  • Contacts not syncing: Ensure Contact Capture is toggled on and delivery is set to "Salesforce" in the landing page editor.
  • Duplicate contacts appearing: This shouldn't happen — TapBridge deduplicates by email. If you're seeing duplicates, the same contact may have been captured with different email addresses.

Browser or Settings Issues

  • TapBridge works best on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge (latest versions)
  • If the page editor looks broken, try a hard refresh (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows)
  • Camera not working for business card scanner: your browser needs camera permission. Go to your browser's site settings and allow camera access for tapbridge.io
  • If links or buttons don't respond, disable browser extensions temporarily — ad blockers occasionally interfere

FAQ

Can I update my landing page after the tag is printed? Yes. Your landing page is fully editable at any time from your dashboard. The physical tag always points to the current version — you never need to reprint.

Can the person I assign a tag to see my other tags? No. Assignees only see and edit the landing page for the specific tag you assigned to them. They have no access to your account or other tags.

Can I remove the callback button from a tag I received as a gift? No. Callback buttons on gifted tags are permanent and cannot be removed by the tag owner. The button was configured by the person who gifted the credit.

What happens to the landing page if I delete a tag? The landing page is permanently deleted along with the tag. The URL will no longer work.

Can I use TapBridge without the physical tag? Your landing page URL and QR code work independently of the physical tag. You can share your landing page link via email, text, or social media even before your tag arrives.

How many tags can I have? As many as you have credits for. There's no limit on the number of tags per account.

Can I change the shape or colors after approving a tag? No. Once a tag is approved and in the print queue, the physical design is locked. You can still edit your landing page at any time. If you need a different physical design, create a new tag.

Is my landing page always live? Yes. Your landing page is permanently hosted at a unique URL and is always accessible to visitors, regardless of whether your TapBridge subscription is active.

What if the NFC chip gets damaged? The NFC chip is embedded inside the tag. Normal wear and tear won't damage it. If the chip stops working, contact support via the chat widget.

Can I order more than one copy of the same design? Yes — use the Clone feature to duplicate a tag's physical configuration, then approve the clone for printing.

Does TapBridge work internationally? Landing pages work worldwide — anyone with a smartphone can tap or scan. Physical tags currently ship within the United States only.
